Binny Dhadwal

Binny Dhadwal (a.k.a joker bartender) born and raised in Mumbai, perfected his craft during the renaissance of the cocktail culture in some of the India’s most iconic cocktail bars including the legendary Onyx, Mikanos, Lush Lounge and as the manager of one of the most highly acclaimed bars in the city.

Years working behind Indian bars, dabbling in several odd jobs in Hospitality and even served as a waiter and steward across restaurants & pubs, eventually and slowly rose in ranks to become a very versatile bartender in the industry.

Binny having one goal in life to have recognition for bartenders in the industry, launched a freelance bartending service company called Flaming Trio in early 2000’s. Starting with only a single wedding back in 2002, Flaming Trio is the only company with a three-country operation and the bartending authority on weddings and other private, corporate events. Binny was proud of his company being recognised not just for regular bartending but to be known in India as entertainment bartending service providers.

After acquiring extensive experience as an expert mixologist and flair bartender traveling the country and gaining industry wide recognition as an expert in his craft, Binny was ready to take on the world. In the year 2007 he represented India in the Havana Club World’s Finals in Cuba, where he was ranked 12th for his Spanish South American concoction featuring rum, salsa sauce and fresh litchi. This was the turning point for Binny, as this was his first ever International trip. Soon after this he was hired to helm the bar at a large scale wedding in Dubai for 1000 people as the lead bartender where he was the sole in charge of the festivities. During this time, he also travelled the world training thousands of career bartenders on the art of cocktail making and advising on bar operations. Another feather was added to his cap when he won ranking number 1 Jim Beam War of Bartenders and was globally recognised. He was also influential in elevating the cocktail culture across the Europe, Africa, UAE, and Asia by continuously discovering new ingredients with which to create new

taste experiences. Emphasis was placed on finding fresh and seasonal ingredients found locally in each country – the more exotic and unusual, the better.

Part of his role also included the design of unique cocktails for events such as the Academy Awards, Bar Shows, and Bollywood launch Parties, Media Parties etc.

With a well-versed and charismatic personality, Binny is multilingual and fluent in Spanish, English and a little Italian too. He has received extensive public relations training, and conducted many television and magazine interviews globally on cocktails and events.

Binny has done 1100 destinations weddings in 74 countries. With the time the never say “NO” attitude of Binny was very evident for all his guest and to give back to society knowledge, he started with Drinq Barmen Academy, which is the only Bar Academy in India certified by the Government. He believes in the full potential of bartending as career and as he says: “boredom and bartending are unheard of, as long as you keep practising – the profession keeps giving.”

Binny taking a new approach towards drinking culture, has started doing all healthy and detox style of cocktails with a complete bar sustainability. The new styles involves, tea cocktails, healthy cocktails and fresh local remote ingredients.
